Alice Mae Allison, 89, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 17, 2009.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Dr. Murray Gossett, associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Mrs. Allison was born Sept. 14, 1919, to Rufus and Diva Dover. She met and married Jack Allison on July 21, 1940. They celebrated their 65th anniversary in 2005. Mrs. Allison was a supervisor in the business office of Southwestern Bell Telephone and retired after 36 years of service.

She was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder. She was a volunteer for the Presbyterian Children's Home. She served as chairwoman for the Chamber of Commerce, Business and Professional Women's Club and Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed traveling and bridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Allison, in 2005; a sister, Sarah Ellen Amos, in 1993; and infant son, Jack Allison Jr. in 1942.

Survivors include four nieces and nephews, Marion Daniel and Franklin Dover Amos, both of Amarillo, Mardi Lusby of Rogers, Ark., and Betty Cook of Independence, Mo.; and five great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
