OBITUARIES
GEORGE H. LARSON
George Harold Larson was born June 20, 1916 to Charles and Carrie (Johnson) Larson SR. in Omaha, Nebraska, the second oldest of six boys. He passed away Sunday, march 21, 1991 at the West Holt memorial Hospital in Atkinson at the age of 74 years, nine months, and 11 days.
He married to Opal Taylor, December 15, 1935 in Papillion, Nebraska. They moved to Springview in March of 1951, where they resided until his death. George was the happinest when he was surrounded by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He spent the early years of his married life as a paint and wallpaper contractor in business with his father and younger brother, Charles. After he moved his family to Springview, he did odd jobs of painting and wallpapering, but the majority of his time was spent farming and raising cattle on a ranch seven miles east of Springview. After all of his children were raised, he and his wife, Opal moved to Springview so they could be closer to their children that lived in town.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Larson; and three brothers, Lloyd, Ronald, and Charles, JR.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; seven sons, George W. Larson of Green Walley, Arizona, Norman Larson of The Colony, Tsas, Albert Larson of Ainsworth, Nebraska, James Larson and Walter Larson both of Springview, Nebraska, Terry Larson of Doniphan, Nebraska, and Lloyd Larson of O'Neill, Nebraska; two daughters Dorothy Larson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Lois (Mrs. Pete) Troy of Lincoln, Nebraska; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Larson of Mission, Texas and Kenneth Larson of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 3, 1991 at the Springview Auditorium. Burial was in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Springview. REV. Roberta Patterson officiated the services. Music was furnished by Doris Weddel and Anne Eichenberger. Active Casketbearers were: Bud Kurtz, Bill Kurtz, Ronnie Larson, Larry Larson, Louis Taylor and Gary Leaders. Honorary Casketbearers were; George W. Larson, Norman Larson, Albert Larson, James Larson, Kenneth Larson, Terry Larson, Lloyd Larson, Walter Larson, Pete Troy, and Robert Larson. Memorials were made to the George H. Larson family. Arrangements were under the direction of the Hoch Funeral Home of Ainsworth.

NOTE: Obituary list a son, David Larson dieing before his father, George Harold Larson BUT the son's name was Donald Leroy Larson (both are buried in the Mr. Hope Cemetery at Springview, Keya Paha County, Nebraska).
