Fannie Lillian Ballou was a happy person who brought joy to those around her. Her father nicknamed her "Sunshine".

Her childhood home was filled with books, learning and religious training. She became a teacher. She loved children and passing on her knowledge.

After spending her mother's birthday with her, Fannie was returning to her teaching job at Kalamazoo, MI. The train she was riding on collided with another at Porter, IN. "Fannie Ballou from Kalamazoo" as her friends called her was killed.
...information from the book her mother Lillian Ballou wrote after Fannie's death. "The story of Fanny Lillian Ballou"
