Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m., from Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church), town of Theresa. The Rev. Mark Berlin will officiate. Burial will be in Hochheim Cemetery, town of Herman. Friends may call on Sunday from 12:30 to 3 p.m., at the church.
Martha was born on Jan. 3, 1912, in Mt. Prospect, Ill., the daughter of Al and Alvina (Busse) Schwake. She was married to Alfred E. Schellin on May 21, 1938, at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Des Plaines, Ill.
Together with her husband farmed in the town of Theresa and was a Dodge County care giver. She was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church (River Church), town of Theresa, a member of Immanuel Ladies Aid and served as past president, was a Bethesda volunteer, was a member of Dodge County Homemakers Club and founded Mayville Luckey Clovers 4-H Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1973; one son, Donald in 2002; two sisters and two brothers.
