DISCREPANCY - The headstone clearly states 1854 yr of birth & obituary clearly states 1844.

From Find-A-Grave contributor 'InMemory' #48117472 - 1865 m Mary Ann Niggeler at Osseo, Hennepin, MN.

Edward and his brother Herman married sisters Maryanne b.1846 and Maria or Mary Niggeler b.1850, respectively. Therefore each family's children are double cousins with each other, which is significant genetically.

Place of birth, (Lienfitz , Western Prussia, Germany), middle name & day/month/year of birth provided by Jutta Hoffmann.

As there s a discrepancy in the headstone date of birth & the date entered on the memorial, I would like to offer Jutta Hoffmann's information - "Entry at the church book of "Preußisch Stargardt - City". No 161/ 1844. His father Christian died in 1847 also at Lienfitz, his mother Anna Maehring - you called Merisch - married again : Martin Radde. She emigrated in 1863 with her sons Adolph Burau ( 21 years old), Eduard Burau ( 18 years old ) and Herman Burau (16 years old) with the ship Minna from Hamburg to Quebec. They are relatives of mine. 1854 it can't be, because his father died in 1847."
