Burnsville - Nina G. Chandler, 78, of Chandler Branch, went home to be with the Lord after an extended illness Friday, January 30, 2009, at her home.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late W. P. and Jaylina McKinney Chandler. Nina retired from Ohio Electric at age 70. She was preceded in death by a sister: Pearl Deaver; and, two brothers: Vernon and Bobby Chandler. Nina was a member of Ivy Gap Baptist Church.
Toby, Samuel, Karmen, Dalton and Brandon; three sisters: Myrtle Deaver of Weaverville, Dorothy Fox of Mars Hill and Carolyn Shepherd of Burnsville; three brothers:
Edd Chandler of Burnsville, Calvin Chandler of Mars Hill and Donald Chandler of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Chandler Cemetery at Ivy Gap.
