Mrs. Christian Buried Monday
82-YEAR-OLD ROCKDALE WOMAN CLAIMED BY DEATH AT
HER HOME LAST SATURDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. C. S. Christian, 82, who died at her home here Sunday were held Monday afternoon at three o'clock from the Christian church with Rev. H. E. Crone officiating.
Interment was made in the family burial plot in Murray Cemetery near town the grounds for the historical old cemetery having been given to the community by her family many years ago.
Mrs. Christian had been a resident of Rockdale for many years and she had resided in Milam county since a young girl.
Ann Murray was born in Simpson county, Ms., on March 10, 1858. With her parents she came to Texas in 1871 and settled in the Bethlehem community. She was married to Charles S. Christian on January 3, 1875. He preceded her in death seventeen years ago. To this union were born nine children, two daughters, Mrs. C. T. Hodges and Miss Beulah Christian, having passed on.
The children surviving are: Annie and Silas christian of Rockdale; Ben, and Elwood Christian, and Mrs. Ivy Christian, of Houston; Willis Christian, of Rosebud; and Mrs. H. M. Roark, of Georgetown.
