Born Feb. 25, 1911, in Mississippi County, son of the late Luther Monroe and Birdie Baker Banks, he was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County where he was a retired farmer. On Nov. 12, 1966, he married Goldie Mae McGee who preceded him in death on Oct. 27, 1996.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby James and Jackie McGee; one daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Phil Rolwing; one brother, George Banks; two sisters, Mary Jane Pool and Lucille Jernigan; and four grandchildren, Matthew Rolwing, T.J. Rolwing, Jennifer McGee and LeAnn Adkisson.
He was also preceded in death by one grandson, William Joseph Rolwing; and three brothers and one sister.
Visitation was held at Shelby Funeral Home, where services were scheduled with the Rev. Larry Kirby, officiating.
Burial followed in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
