Thomas Henry Wilde, 78, of Ogden, Utah, one of the first settlers of Star Valley, Wyoming, died Thursday, June 5, at 12:30 p.m. at an Ogden hospital of carcinoma.
Mr Wilde was born June 4, 1863, at Coalville, Utah a son of Thomas Hulett and Martha Elmina Norton Wilde, and during his youth resided at Brigham City and Mink Creek Idaho. He married Rosetta Prescilla Nelson in the Logan L.D.S. Temple January 29, 1886 and in that year the couple came to Star Valley.
He was Justice of the Peace there for 15 years, he had also been employed by the Burton Creamery company for 16 years as a cream tested. For 21 years he was the senior president of the Star Valley L.D.S. stake seventies quorum. He served in the northwestern states mission form 1904 to 1906, had been a home missionary and at the time of his death was a member of the Weber stake high priests quorum. He came to Ogden 12 years ago.
Surviving are four sons and two daughters, Clarence H. Wilde of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Delbert Earl Wilde and Mrs Lettie Edith Thompson of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Leonard Ray Wilde of Phoenix Ariz; and Mrs Elsie Sizemore of Salt Lake City; three brothers and two sisters, Mrs Louis Hopkins of Mink Creek, Idaho; Lawrence B. Wilde of Iona, Idaho; Milton Wilde of Georgetown, Idaho; and Emma Wilde of Idaho; several half brothers and half sisters; 24 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Ogden Second LDS ward chapel by Bishop Frank Simmons, and at Afton, Wyo. Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Burial was in the Afton cemetery.
The following services were conducted for Mr Wilde in Afton last Sunday.

The speakers were, Bp Osborne Low Sr., and Arthur F. Burton.

All of his children attended the services here with the exception of Harvey Wilde who was unable to come.
