KATHERINE PITTS ODOM Sept. 13, 1935-Jan. 29, 2009 Funeral services for Katherine Pitts Odom, 73, of Ellisville, were held on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, from the Freeman Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jake Williams and the Rev. Joe Holder officiating. Interment was in the Trinity Cemetery in Wayne County. Born Sept. 13, 1935, she was a native of Wayne County, and worked as a waitress. She was a member of Trinity First Baptist church in Wayne County. She died on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009 at Jones County Rest Home in Ellisville. Survivors include her husband, Howard Doyle Odom of Waynesboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Howard Dail and Marie Odom of Waynesboro; two brothers, Berry Paul Pitts and Sam Pitts, both of Waynesboro; a sister, Jewel Jordan of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Howard Derick Odom and his wife Traci, Dustin Ross Odom and Devin Boyd Odom, all of Waynesboro; three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae and George Pitts Sr.; three brothers, George Pitts Jr., Luther Pitts and B.B. Pitts; and a sister, Maudie Rigdon. Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
