She was born Jan. 31, 1950, in Champaign, Ill., the daughter of William J. Sherman and Catherine Dismore. Cathy was married May 24, 2002, in West Liberty, Ky., to Joe E. Sanders. He survives.

Sherman, Cayuga; mother, Catherine Dismore (husband, Carl), Veedersburg; one son, Doug Walton, (wife, Lana) Veedersburg; two step-sons, Larry Sanders (companion Lori), Kingman and Rodney Sanders, Crawfordsville; one step-daughter, Melissa Huls (husband, James) New Ross; three half-sisters, Carla Newnum (husband, Dave), Kingman, Jamie Lancaster (husband, Todd), Cayuga, and Lisa (husband, Mike) Lancaster, Danville, Ill.; a half-brother Paul Sherman, Clinton, Wis; three step-grandchildren, Whitney Sanders, Sabrina Huls and Audrey Huls.
Cathy was a 1968 graduate of Fountain Central High School. She enjoyed visiting and spending time with her family and friends, working crossword puzzles and her special dog "Scooter." She was excited and looking forward to the birth of her grandchild this coming July.
