Mr. Thomas S. Blanchard, a prominent citizen of Alexander, who was operated on at the City Hospital of Augusta a few days ago for abscess of the liver, died at the hospital Wednesday last. His remains were carried to Alexander Thursday, and were interred Friday afternoon with Masonic honors in the Masonic burial grounds of Alexander. Many visiting brethren, quite a number from the Waynesboro lodge, assisted the local brethren in bestowing the last rites over the remains of their deceased brother. Judge Phil. P. Johnston of Waynesboro lodge conducted the ceremonies in a most impressive manner.
