He was a native of Ware County and had resided most of his life in Ware County. He was son of the late James Jeffrey Mizell and Laura Harris Mizell and was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Mizell; three sisters, Edna Hagen, Leila Aldridge, Mary Perry; and two brothers, Tom Mizell and Owen Mizell.
The survivors include his wife, Wanell Pierce Mizell of Waycross; three sisters, Daisy Whaley of Winter Haven, FL, Alice Chancey of Folkston, Dorothy Jones (husband Fred) of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery. The family received friends at Music Funeral Home.
