Prior to that, he had been employed by The National Mine Service as a Sales Engineer for over 30 years, during which time he traveled extensively through South America, Mexico, and Canada. He was a member of The Society of Mining Engineers.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Alice Ertley, son, Ronald E. Jr., and daughter, Linda J.
