Funeral service for Peggy Roebuck Copeland, 76, Lake Avenue, Edgewater, who died December 26, 2007, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 29, at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with retired Pastor Jimmy Hancock officiating. Family will receive friends today (Friday, Dec. 28) from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel. Born in Pitt County, N.C., Mrs. Copeland moved to this area in 1958 from Robersonville, N.C. A former bowler, she also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, crossword puzzles and traveling. Peggy was an excellent cook and seamstress and was a member of Grace Community Church, New Smyrna Beach. Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Melvin; son, Melvin Eugene, Holly Hill; daughters, Marsha Ellen Kenhovin, New Smyrna Beach, Kathy Jo Conley, Edge-water, and Karen E. Barron, New Smyrna Beach; sisters, Gertrude Warren, Robersonville, Shirley Beacham, Jamesville, N.C., Linda Mizelle, Farmville, N.C.; and nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Copeland's name to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
