Aimee Gorder Rites Conducted

Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 17, 1971, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Sidney for Aimee C. Gorder. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m., Thursday, at Fulkerson Memorial Chapel. Father James Birkmaier was celebrant. Interment was in Sidney Cemetery.

At those services, St. Matthew's Choir sang "Ava Maria", "Soul of My Saviour" and "Go Forth to Paradise," Honorary escorts were: Kay Adams, Angeline Hank, Joan Krejci, Jerry Harnish, Audrey Lorenz, Jo Maltese, Mary Lou McIntosh, Madelyn Moye, Mary Voss and Edna Wilson. Pallbearers were: Dale Elletson, Clifford Heck, Knut Hoversten, Jack Knoop, Harold Lorenz, Daniel D. McGuire, William A. McIntoch and Jerry Rogers. Ushers were Jerry Cloyd and Francis Jones.

Aimee Cecelia Gorder was born at Glasgow, on May 16, 1916, daughter of John and Aimee Todd. She was raised there and graduated from Glasgow High School on May 28, 1936. She attended Frank Higgins Trade School in Los Angeles, Calif., in 1938 where she studied photography. From 1943 to 1945 she worked at Davis Monathon Air Base at Tucson, Ariz., and in 1945 returned to Glasgow where she worked for the telephone company.

On May 31, 1947, she and R. Homer Gorder were married in Cincinnati, Ohio, and in 1948 the couple moved to Sidney. In 1969 Aimee attended Missoula Technical Center in Missoula. On her graduation on June 4, 1970, she moved to San Bernadino, Calif., where she made her home until her death.

Aimee died Saturday morning, Dec. 11, 1971, at Loma Linda University Medical Center where she was taken by ambulance on Friday morning. She had been in declining health for some months. Death was caused by leukemia.

She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church and the Altar Society; Past President of Richland County Association for Retarded Children and Past President of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving her are: two sons, Todd Gorder of Sidney, and Rex Gorder of Boulder; one sister, Ruthanne Todd of Rialto, Calif.; one grandson, Shane of Sidney; and R. Homer Gorder. She was preceded in death by one son, Scott and her parents.
