He was born Dec. 13, 1923, in Cleveland. Mr. Voelkel was employed as a machinist, retiring from Cleveland Twist Drill. He loved to do stained glass, to fish and to golf. His family remembers him as a hard worker who enjoyed life. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Voelkel is survived by his wife, Doris M. (Rak); sons, Robert J. (Randi) of Munson and Donald (Joanne) of Medina; daughter, Jean Hammond of Sagamore Hills; and grandchildren, Gina, Jennifer and Krista Voelkel and David and Bradley Hammond.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Private family burial: Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
