George Emerson McNees, 82 of Orem, died Monday, May 17, 1993 at his home.

He was born April 11, 1911 in Fort Morgan, Colorado, a son of Frank Emerson and Minnie Ora Roberts McNees. He married Clara McKnight in Washington. There were the parents of George E. McNees, Jr., Everett Wash.; Delores Wagoner, Snohomish, Wash.; and Carol McNees, Ketchikan, Alaska. They were later divorced.

On January 6, 1945, he married Beth Kirk Fenton in Pleasant Grove, Utah; she preceded him in death in 1984. Step sons are Darrel Fenton (Cleta), Longmont, Colo.; Thomas Fenton (Jan), St. George; Samuel Fenton (deceased) (Margie), Orem. Their children are Mrs. Richard (Georgia Ann) Scott, Portland, Oregon; John McNees (Lisa), Chubbock, Idaho; and Jay McNees (deceased).

He married Mildred Jessie Ethington Millett on October 11, 1986 in Provo, Utah. Children are stepsons, Howard Millett (Christine), and Ronald Millett (Rhonda), both of Orem; Charles Millett (Melinda) Renton, Washington; Douglas Millett (Karen), Mesa, Ariz.

George was a master electrician, retiring from Kennecott Copper and later from United Concrete. He was an avid reader and loved flowers and gardening. He spent many years as a volunteer for the Pleasant Grove Fire Dept. He was a member of the LDS Church, living in the Orem Canyon View 8th Ward.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beth, and a sister, Robbie Barrett. He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Orem; a sister, Grace Cruver, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; his children, step children, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, 10 a.m., at the Orem Canyon View 8th Ward, 575 East 800 North, Orem. Friends may call Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 South at 300 East, Pleasant Grove, or Friday at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
