DONNA R. VAN OSDOL, 66, of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, IL.

Donna was born April 18, 1942 in Morrison, IL, to Howard G. and Lillian (Beveroth) Zuidema. She was educated in the Morrison Grade Schools and was a 1960 graduate of Morrison High School. Donna married Robert L. Van Osdol, Jr. on July 16, 1961 in Morrison. She was first employed by the former KEM Apparel Shop and later as a secretary by the Volckmann Furniture Factory both in Morrison. Following that, she worked for the Pittenger's Clothing Store in Morrison. Donna was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrison and had served as nursery co-ordinator and as a deacon. She was an avid walker and loved time spent with her children and grandchildren. Her life was filled with family gatherings, nurturing parenting, and she was dedicated to helping elderly friends. Donna had many close friendships which she cherished dearly. She shined with courage, integrity, and humor, while facing her battle with cancer.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; two daughters, Debbie (Guy) Perry of Davenport, IA and Susan (Keith) Wiersema of Morrison; one son, Steve Van Osdol of Morrison; three grandchildren, Amanda and Ryan Wiersema and Jennifer Perry; one sister, Shirley Betts of Morrison; one brother, Dave (Charel) Zuidema of Morrison; one brother-in-law, John (Barb) Van Osdol of Sterling, IL; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
