Harriet J. Whiteside-Alexander is the daughter of Mahala Henderson, mistress of Thomas Whiteside. Thomas and his brother Jenkin Whiteside were the founders of the Bean Station Tavern & Inn in 1813. They are sons of Dr. Thomas Whiteside b.ca. 1745 Ireland – d.1823 Lower Oxford, Chester Co, PA and Mary Junkin.
