Hoboken- Mr. Howard Lavon Crews, Sr., 81, of Hoboken died Saturday morning (May 5, 2012) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Hoboken, GA his parents were Reuben C. & Elma Howard Crews. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Tishie Evelyn Melton Crews and a brother, Billy R. Crews.

Howard served in the United States Air Force and was a rural carrier for the U.S. Post Office. Also he was a member of Philippians Worship Center, Hoboken Masonic Lodge 740 F&AM and Waycross Commandery. Prior to living in Hoboken he lived in Albany, GA where he was a Shriner for Hassan Temple, Albany, GA and a member of KYC H Temple, Albany, GA. He also loved to collect clocks.

Survivors include, 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, David R. Crews and Howard L. & Kristy Crews, Jr. both of Hoboken; 6 grandchildren, Sernia Corbitt, Amber Corbitt, Joshua L. Crews (Crystal), Dustin L. Crews, Shyania Pinkney and Timothy Manus, Jr.; 5 great grandchildren, Shawn Corbitt, Layla Hernandez, Reiley Hernandez, Matiana Corbitt and Kaiila Crews; 2 sister, Maxine Davis of Nahunta and Peggy Crews of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Sunday morning (May 13, 2012)at Philippians Worship Center during the morning church service.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
