Miss Susan J. Hadden, 48 years old, died Saturday afternoon, April 18, 1936, At the home of her cousin, Miss Ida May Hadden, 947 Diven Street. Susan Hadden had been in ill health for several years but had not actually been confined to her bed until the past four weeks.

Deceased was born at Tompkins Corners, the daughter of William and Eunice McDonald Hadden. Her mother died when she was 17 years old. She went to Peekskill 23 years ago and entered the Nurses' Training School at Peekskill Hospital.

Miss Hadden continued for nine months but left when her older sister died. She then returned home to keep house for her father and another sister. The second sister died, and two years later Mr. Hadden fell victim to pneumonia.

Miss Hadden went to Peekskill In 1918. And made her home with her cousin, Ida May Hadden, after which she obtained a position with Dr. and Mrs. Edward L. Thorndyke at Montrose. Dr. Thorndyke Is a professor of psychology at Columbia University. Miss Hadden had charge of the Thorndyke children.

Two years ago, on December 5, Miss Hadden underwent a serious operation at French Hospital. New York City. She was in the Manhattan Hospital for two months and later spent two months convalescing In Peekskill, after which she returned to work for the Thorndyke family.

Miss Hadden was a member of the Tompkins Corners M. E. Church. Her loving, very sympathetic disposition earned her a host of friends In Peekskill and vicinity.

The funeral was held Tuesday Afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence of her cousin, Miss Ida May Hadden 947 Diven Street. Interment was made in Hillside Cemetery.
