Following is his death announcement from the Friends' Review:
COFFIN. - On the 20th of Sixth month, 1873, Hervey Coffin, in the 63d year of his age; a member of Pleasant Plain Monthly Meeting, Iowa. This dear Friend was, through redeeming grace, enabled to bear a long illness with patience and resignation, and to evince to those around that, as his physical strength declined, the spiritual man waxed stronger and stronger. His main subject of conversation during his illness was on the mercies of God and his abundant blessing.
