Lois Evelyn Tanner Beasley, 93, died Sunday, July 15, 2007.
Mrs. Beasley was born September 20, 1913 in Thurber, Texas and was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus H. Tanner and Rosella Myers Tanner; loving husband of over 31 years, Kermit Beasley; brothers, A.M. (Red) and C.D. (Buster) Tanner; sisters, Lucille Monk and Bernice Bond.

She was a longtime devoted member of Hardin Baptist Church where she was a WMU leader, Senior Adult Leader, and faithful Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Beasley also volunteered in local elections and polling stations for many years. She was a graduate of West Texas State Teachers College in Canyon, Texas. She began her teaching career in a one-room school in Plum Grove, TX, but spent most of her teaching career in Hardin ISD teaching high school business courses, fifth grade and her favorite tenure, second grade. She retired from teaching in 1977 and enjoyed traveling with friends and family, visiting many different locales such as Florida, Colorado, Missouri, Washington D.C. and a special trip to the Holy Land. She loved quilting and had a great interest in genealogy. She was an active member of the Senior Center in Hardin. She was loved for her sense of fun, lively mind, humor and wit. She will be greatly missed.

Lois is survived by her children, Edwin Beasley of Hardin, Zonna Craig and husband Hugh of Livingston, John Beasley of Liberty; four grandchildren, Lance Craig of Livingston, Tara Craig-Owens of The Woodlands, Stewart Beasley of Baytown, Karen Beasley of Austin; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Beasley and Gracen and Hope Owens; sister, Marian Jackson of Irving and 12 nieces and nephews and many more friends who were touched by Mrs. Beasley.
