LEIGHTON - The Funeral for John H. Brackin Jr., 40, Route 3, will be at 2 p.m. today at New Sockwell Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy George officiating. Burial will be in Shaw Cemetery, Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, directing.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

He died Friday, Feb. 21, 1992, at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, after a sudden illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Colbert County, employed by Whitesell Manufacturing Co., and member of New Sockwell Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Brackin, Leighton; son, John Patrick Brackin, Leighton; daughters, Melissa Dawn Uhlman, Jessica Nicole Brackin, both of Leighton; brother, Denzil Brackin, Tuscumbia; sister, Dean Beaver, Leighton, one grandchild.

Bearers will be David Waldrep, Mac Brown, Stanley Beaver, Wayne Beaver, Howard South and Bobby Wright.
