Daniel A. Baker, 51, of Berkey, Ohio, passed away at home Friday December 26, 2008.

Dan spent his life doing what he enjoyed the most, farming. He was born in Toledo, September 2, 1957, to parents Francis A. and Norma G. (Hertzfeld) Baker. Dan graduated from Evergreen High School in 1975 and received an Associates Degree from the Ohio State Agricultural and Technical Institute located in Wooster, Ohio. He was a talented carpenter, skilled at making small furniture. Dan was a humble and kind farmer, with a nurturing spirit, who was always willing to help others. He will be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie (Urbaniak) Baker, and siblings Ronald (Tina), John "Jack" (Shelley), and Mark (Lisa) Baker, Jane (Randy) Pozniak, Jean (Marlan) Anderson, Philip (Tami) Baker, Sara (Timothy) Yerkey, and Timothy (Kim) Baker; numerous nieces and nephews; step-mother Margaret (Westbrook) Baker; and mother-in-law Delphine Urbaniak. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas Baker.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home 5712 N. Main St. Sylvania, OH, Monday and Tuesday December 29th and 30th from 4 – 9 PM each day. Scripture Services will begin at 7 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Assumption Wednesday December 31st at 11 AM, were Dan's body will lie in state one-hour prior. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Those wishing to give memorials, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider the Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the Richfield Township Fire Department and EMS.
