He was more thn a local character having at one time been a candidate for Co. attorney. He was educated for the ministry in his native land, Scotland. And afterwards studied and practiced law and medicine. He founded the Cuba Pilot and edited it, and also the Daylight for several years. He held various local offices here, including city attorney and police judge. He was also quite a speaker and was much in demand in this line.
