Deloris Crews Courson passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her residence in Blue Ridge, Georgia. She was born January 20, 1931 in Brantley County, Georgia. Deloris was the third child of Homer and Nettie Crews.

Deloris retired in 1997 from S.H. Kress Company in Brunswick, Georgia after thirty nine years of service. After retiring, she moved to Blue Ridge to be near Carolyn and her family. She was a member of New Life Family Church in Blairsville, Georgia. Deloris was a devout Christian and we know she is looking down at us from Heaven right now. She was a blessing to everyone she came in contact with and a very caring and loving person. Deloris was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved watching them play on TV and going to their games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Nettie Walker Crews, her brothers, Marion E. Crews and Julian W. Crews, her sister-in-laws, Kitty Crews and Francis Fore, her brothers-in-law, Everett Strickland and Ray Youmans, a nephew, Gene Strickland, and a great-niece, Clarissa Strickland.

Deloris is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Setser and her husband Dennis of Blue Ridge, Georgia, granddaughter, Cynthia Johnston and her husband Rick of Fayetteville, North Carolina, grandsons, Gregory and Alex Caldwell; brothers, Wesley Crews and his wife Deniece of Waycross, Georgia, Jerry Crews and his wife Dianne of Guyton, Georgia, sisters, Janie Strickland Gibson and her husband Richard of Waycross, Georgia, Marylou Aldridge and her husband Silas of Dowling Park, Florida, Laverne Youmans of Waycross, Georgia, Norma Custer and her husband Ron of San Antonio, Texas, Erma Read and her husband Calvin of Tallahassee, Florida, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Pierce Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
