Doris Lee Mathis Page Berthelot (Teet) died January 26, 2009.

Funeral services will be at the Shreveport Community Church on January 29, 2009. Officiating at the service will be Pastors Francis Duron, Denny Duron, and Brian Opbrook. Interment will be at Forest Park.

Doris Lee Mathis was born June 1, 1919 in Selma, Louisiana. She grew up in the Selma area where she graduated from high school. Doris worked in retail sales at Rubenstein's and Dillard's in Shreveport when she was not at home being a housewife. She had a green thumb and enjoyed growing flowers in the house and outside in her yard.

Because her first husband, Marvin Page (May 23, 1938) was a pastor, she served as a pastor's wife in Castor, La. She was a member of Shreveport Community Church for over 50 years where she attended Wise and Wonderful, Ladies Bible studies and was a faithful Prayer Warrior and Soul Winner. She was an officer in the Women's Auxillary of the Gideon's International.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carrie Atwood and James Wesley Mathis; her first husband, Marvin (Buddy) Page of Castor, La; her second husband, Lee Berthelot of Shreveport, La.; and a great-grandson, Logan Hinkie.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: son Lee Corbett and Miriam Berthelot and daughter Margaret and Ron West, all of Shreveport, La: 5 grandchildren, Sharon and Mike Matranga of Frierson, La; Joy and Louie Rabalais of Stonewall, La; Michael and Betty West of Lowell, Ar, James West of Fayetteville, Ar, and Sheron McGill of Shreveport, La.; and 7 great-grandchildren, Jacob West, Caitlyn Hinkie and Christian Rabalais, all of Shreveport, La. and Knikki Newman, Triston Newman, Anthony Newman and Starlia Newman, all of Lowell, Ar. Doris also leaves behind nieces and other family members as well as many, many friends.

Pallbearers were her guardian angel from next door, James Williams, a great-grandson Jacob West, grandson-in-law Mike Matranga, and precious friends Garland Weidner, Mark Greenley, and Chris Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons Louie Rabalais, Michael West, James West.

The family wishes to thank Dr. S E Woods, the 7th floor nurses at WK Pierremont, The Bradford House, and the Grace Home for the wonderful care that was given to her.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Grace Home or Gideon's International.

Doris' youngest great-grandson said that God has chosen Mama to be a bright star in the night sky to guide us until we meet again.
