Emily Marie Berta (Daughter of Edward and "Lurline" (Gaston) Berta) married Walter Lewis Hammond in 1958. They met in SF while "Walt" was stationed at Hunter's Point, Bayview while he was in the Navy. Emily gave birth to six children: Linda Ann, Carol Ann, Nancy Ann, Phillip Edward, Janis Ann and Joyce Ann. She died of Melanoma Cancer at Mt. Zion Hospital.
