Mr. Davis passed away at the age of 76 on January 25, 2009 in Fort Worth.
Otha Frank "Shorty" Davis was born October 3, 1932 in Van Zandt County to the late Hubert Hensley Davis and Bessie Phelps Davis. He was raised in the Van area, and had been a resident of Forth Worth most of his life. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florene Davis in 2002; son, Bobby Davis in 2000; brother, A.D. Davis; and sister, Billie Davis.
Survivors include his three daughters, Darlene Hatcher and husband Douglas, Celia Stegient, and Beverly Cobb, all of Ft. Worth; daughter-in-law, Janet Davis of Van; two sisters, Judy Nipp and Mary Jo Fyiol, both of Van; six grandchildren, Mandy Riddle, Charlie Hatcher, Clayton Gifford, Teresa Thornhill, Jessica Davis and Aaron Davis; seven great-grandchildren, Chase, Triniti, Jon, Jamie, Tyler, Shantel and David; and one great-grandchild, Zoie.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Richardson, Odelle Richardson, Charlie Hatcher, Clayton Gifford, James Carson and Johnny Olguin.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Van Assembly of God Church.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., Tuesday
