MAYWOOD -Oral Vern (Bud) Teel was born May 10, 1925 at Wellfleet, Ne to Clifford and Ruby Teel. He died March 1, 1973 after a lingering illness. He was married to Delma Hoschouer on December 19, 1944 and five children were born to them.
He was inducted into the Army in March 1945 and served in the African Middle Eastern Theater of operation. He was discharged August 26, 1946. He was a member of the Maywood Christian Church, The McCook Toastmasters Club and the Federal Land Bank Board of Directors. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
Survivors are his widow Delma; four sons, Dewey of O'Neill, Timothy of McCook, Paul and Bruce at home; one daughter, Janice Burton of Lincoln; three grandchildren; his mother Ruby of Sacramento, California; three brothers, Eldred of Oregon, Alvin of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Marvin of Sun Valley, California; four sisters, Ona Teel of Lincoln, Doris Field of Prairie City, Oregon, Wilma Ottman of Huntley, Ne, and Glenda Urbom of Thornton, Colorado. Services were held March 3, 1973 at the Maywood Christian Church with the Rev. Dale Heimer officiating. Burial was in the Maywood Cemetery.
