John Duncan Dies at 87 In La Verkin
(Tribune Special)

LA VERKIN, Washington County,
Jan. 7— John Duncan, 87, La
Verkin, died Wednesday at the
home of a son, Junius J. Duncan,
of ailments incident to age.
He was born Jan. 7, 1861, at
Meadow, Millard county, a son of
Jenette Snedden Duncan and
James Duncan. He married Annie
Prisbrey June 20, 1883, in St.
George temple, Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints. She
died Jan. 24, 1921, at St. George.
He lived in Meadow, spent 12
years in Idaho, and lived in St.
George until the death of his wife.
His last 25 years were spent here
with his son.

Surviving are three sons, John
Wallace Duncan and Junius J.
Duncan, La Verkin, and George Albert
Duncan, Idaho Falls, Ida.; a
daughter, Mrs. Grace D. Riding,
San Francisco, Cal.; 19 grandchildren,
49 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren, and a
sister, Elizabeth Stewart. Meadow.

Funeral services will be conducted
here Saturday at 2 p.m. in
La Verkin ward hall with Horatio
Gubler, bishop, officiating. Burial
will be in La Verkin cemetery.

Friends may call at the home of
Junius J. Duncan from noon to 2
p.m. Saturday.
