Lee worked as a boiler repairman for various laundries. He moved his family around from state to state while he did his work in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma.
Lee died on July 5 1925 while he was doing repairs on a boiler in Okmulgee OK. While Lee was moving a 110 volt light cord and standing on a wet concrete floor he was electrocuted.
Grace took Lees body back to Wichita, KS.for burial. Lee was a member of the Thomas Hopkins Amvets in Wichita. They took part in the service. After Lees death Grace took her four sons to the Duncans Creek, Lawndale, N.C. area to live.
