PERRY- Sylvia Ann Strange, 53 passed away Friday, January 16, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 31, 1955 a daughter of Herman and Lucille Weaver Thornton. She was raised in Brunswick, Georgia where she attended the Glynn Academy Elementary, Junior High School and High School.

Sylvia and Jack Lipthratt were married in Brunswick, Georgia on March 2, 1973 and they were later divorced. She met Duwayne Strange while he was stationed in the Navy and they were married on March 31, 1980 in Charleston, South Carolina. They moved back to Utah to raise their family. Sylvia loved being around her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing and poker nights. Her children say that she was the best mom.

Sylvia is survived by her husband, Duwayne of Perry; Daughter Lisa Lipthratt Gress and Michael Gress (Brigham City); Mandy Strange and John Brunner (Brigham City); daughter Sheena Strange Goldsberry and Jason Goldsberry (Brigham City); and three grandchildren. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 E. Brigham City, UT. The viewing will be held from 10:00-10:40 a.m. prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Willard Cemetery.
