F. Leberta Aukamp, 99, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born on December 16, 1905 to the late Elmer and Mabel (Stively) Wiggins, she lived with her husband, Wilson, for more than 50 years in Lampeter, PA.
She graduated from Quarryville High School and attended Lancaster Business College. She worked most of her adult life in accounting positions for Wiggins Chevrolet, Warren Henwood Co. and H.C. Rineer Co.
She was an 80 year member of the New Providence Church of God and was a Sunday school teacher and active in the women's ministries of the church. She learned to play the piano at age 8 and used that talent throughout her life, serving as pianist and organist at her church for more than 50 years.
She continued to play for some of the chapel services at the Quarryville home until she was 90. Always interested in crocheting and knitting, she made sweaters and afghans for the family and various friends during her many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson, who passed away in 1992 and two brothers, Claude Wiggins and John Wiggins. She is survived by two children, Gloria Walton, Lancaster and Donald N. Aukamp husband of Shirley Graham Aukamp, Lancaster; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister June Yecker of Lancaster. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, July 29, 2005 at 2:00 PM from the New Providence Church of God, 269 Cinder Road, New Providence, PA. Interment in the church cemetery. There will be no visitation prior to the service; however friends are kindly invited to visit with the Aukamp family in the fellowship hall of the church following the graveside service.
