BONDARCHUK, James; Former Greenport resident died July 5 at his home in Essington, Pa. He was 88.

He was born Oct. 5, 1919, to John and Jenny (Adamiack) Bondarchuk in Chester, Pa. Following graduation from Greenport High School, he married Nettie (Bonkoski) in 1941.

He worked as a machinist at Westinghouse Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1982. In his free time, he was active in Boy Scouts of America and was a council commissioner for many years.

Mr. Bondarchuk was also a member of the Polish American Club as well as a bookkeeper, family said.

He is survived by his wife; his daughters Christine Novelli of King of Prussia, Pa., and Kathleen DiDomenico of West Chester, Pa.; three grandchildren; and his siblings Helen Keller of Springfield, Pa., John and Constantine, both of Orient, Harry, of Greenport, and Alex of Southold.

Mr Bondarchuk was predeceased by two sons, James and Kenneth; and his siblings Anne Klotz, Walter, Peter, Frank and Dimitri.

After a funeral service July 11, he was interred at Saint Peter & Paul Cemetery in Marple Newtown, Pa.
