TIGNALL, Ga.- Mr. Raymond Burton,83, of Hulin Ave.Tignall, Ga., entered into rest Monday evening August 9, 2004 at Nancy Hart Nursing Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 11, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home. Services will be held at Mallorysville Baptist Church, Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 4 p.m. Rev. Donnie Berry will be officiating the service.

Mr. Burton was a native of Wilkes County and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World WarII. He was a farmer and a member of Mallorysville Baptist Church.
He had served on the ASCS Board of Directors and the Department of Family and Children Services. His wife was the late Harriette Strother Burton.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Burton and Tony Burton, both of Tignall; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Pete) Lester Burton.

Pallbearers include David Hawkins, Bobby Burton, Joe Burton, Lester Strother, Robert Rogers, and Lawrence Burton.
