Goldia Bulah King Cole, fourth daughter of the late Martin and Mary [funeral home records shows Mary's maiden name as Benton] King, was born in Phillips county, Kansas, April 14, 1903, and departed this life, August 31, 1967, at the Smith County Memorial hospital, at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 16 days.
...Her early life was spent with her parents on a farm north of Agra, Kansas, where she grew up and attended the Liberty School. At the age of 14 years, she obeyed the Gospel, accepted Christ as her Saviour, and was baptized. She attended the church and was faithful in attendance as long as her health permitted.
...She was united in marriage to Harry M. Cole on Nov. 9, 1921. They lived on a farm near Claudell Kansas, for a number of years later moving to Agra, where she made her home until the time of her death. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister, and a loving friend to all who knew her.
...Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry and little son, Martin Eldon; her father, mother and two brothers.
...She leaves to mourn her departure, four sons and one daughter: Mrs. Mary Alice Barnes and husband, Delbert of Phillipsburg; Reed Cole and wife, Marple of Gaylord; Junior Cole and wife, Gayle of Kensington; Max Cole and wife June of Olathe; La Von Cole and wife, Peggy of Phillipsburg; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild; four sisters: Mrs. Maggie Munyon, Mrs. Maude Hall, Mrs. Gladys McCord of Agra; Mrs. Ruth Miller of Phillipsburg; one brother Harvey King and wife, Georgia of Denver, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Hazel Wiehl; ten nieces, nine nephews and a host of friends.
...Memorial services were held at the Simmons chapel in Kensington, Sept. 2 with the Rev. Delbert Tetrick officiating. Music was supplied by Russell Rose, Darrel Gale, Ronald Rose, and Keith DuBois. Casket bearers were Danny Wilson, Clar Hall, Martin King, Roger Patton, Doren Munyon, Edward Newbrey. Interment was in the Cedar Cemetery, Cedar, Kansas.
