Mitchell Dee Henry went to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in Checotah, Okla., at the age of 51. He was born Aug. 25, 1957 in Holdenville, Okla., to Dee Henry and Zona Lee (Williams) Mullinax. Mitchell grew up in the Okfuskee County area having graduated from Mason High School in 1975. After school he began working in the oil and gas industry. He also worked many years as a trucker. Mitchell loved his family very much; he also enjoyed fishing, camping, his friends, his two dogs, Lucky and Macy, and especially riding his Harley. He is preceded in death by his father, Dee Henry and one nephew, Jermey Gill. Survivors include his mother, Zona Lee Mullinax and husband Bobby of Shawnee; two children, Mitchell Henry and wife Cricket of Edmond and Emily Henry of Claremore; two sisters, Beverly Gill and husband Rick of Welty and Tammy Gill and husband Jim, also of Welty; and four grandchildren, Braden and J.D. Henry of Edmond and Griffin and Caleb Henry of Claremore. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Parks Brothers Chapel in Okemah with Brother Terry Newell officiating. Burial will follow at the Welty Cemetery. Services under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah.
