He was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Elyria to Paul and Lois M. Kime Davenport. Mr. Davenport graduated from Spencer High School in 1959, Bowling Green State University in 1963 and later received his master's degree from Kent State University. He was a science and biology teacher as well as a coach at Cloverleaf schools, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Spencer First Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, deacon and elder. He excelled in baseball, basketball and football in his younger years and was an avid fisherman and golfer in his later years.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Service: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Spencer, 302 W. Main St. Pastors Jeff Mullet and Mark Gostlin will officiate.
Burial: Spencer Cemetery.
