Grace was the first child of John Thacker and Nannie Lawson born in Ellis County, TX. She lived with her parents in Ellis County until about 1928 they moved to Norman, OK and were there for a few years. From Norman they moved to Warner, OK that is where she met Alfeuss "Fat" Bookout and they married. To that union six daughters were born Lohoma, Naomi, Barbara Jean, Helen Ann, Rose Marie and Louise. They made their home in Warner until Fat retired. They retired to Chelsea and where there until their deaths.
