Emzy M. (Mack) Abel, 74 years old, of Route 3, Alma, Arkansas died in a Van Buren, Arkansas hospital Friday night April 5, 1963. He had been ill for a long while. He was born February 22, 1890.

Mr. Abel was a retired civil service employee with the post office department; school teacher; and a veteran of World War One.

His parents were the late Robert and Elizabeth Chastain Abel. The Chastain cemetery is located on land formerly owned by the family of Mr Abel's mother.

Survivors are his wife Mrs. Margaret Abel of the home; two sons, Charles Abel of Omaha and Clayton Abel of Belleville, Illnois; one daughter, Eva of Conway; one sister Adell of Lowell; two half-brothers Robert C. and Eugene Abel of Stockton, California; three half sisters, Zae of Concord, California, Opal and Ruth of Stockton, California; and several grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon in Ocker Funeral Home chapel. Charles Duncan pastor of the First Baptist church at Mulberry was the officiating minister. Burial was in Chastain cemetery.
