Mr. Dixon was a native of Johnson County. He served in the U.S. Navy and was the son of the late Piercy and Earline Davis Dixon. He was of the Lutheran faith, and attended Wrightsville Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of American Legion. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Annie Dozier, Earl Dixon and Arthur Dixon, and his son-in-law, Chester Clements.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Eleanore Dixon of Wrightsville; son, Jeffery Carl (Linda) Dixon of Augusta; daughter, Tammie L. Clements of Dublin; brother Russell (Shirley) Dixon of Wrightsville; sisters, Thelma (Herman) Sweat of Wrightsville; Linda Douglas, Hilda (William) Bray Wrightsville, Jane Mason of Swainsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Roy Lyles, Roy Crawford, Lanier Hudson, W.H. Smith, Charles Garnto, Edwin Knight, Bert Ratliff and Doyle Knight.
