Suggested edit: Rapid City Journal, Rapid City, South Dakota, Friday, August 22, 1958, Page 2, Col. 5: Clason Funeral Slated Monday. Hot Springs---Funeral services will be held here Monday for Earl Clason, longtime West River resident who died Wednesday at the VA Center here.

The 1:30 p.m. rites are to be conducted at the Center's Protestant Chapel with Rev. St. Clair Vannix officiating. Burial will be in the VA Cemetery under direction of the McColley Chapel of the Hills. Clason, a resident of Hermosa, was born March 5, 1893, in Custer. During World War I he served from April, 1918 to May, 1919. He was in the 355th Infantry. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Earl Brown, Oeirichs, and a brother, Bert, Hermosa.

He enlisted April 29,1918 in South Dakota and was discharged on May 31, 1919 at Camp Dodge IA, he had a brother Bert who was at the funeral.
