Funerals
Funeral of Frank Weakly.
The funeral of Frank Weakly was held this afternoon at two o'clock at the home north of Island park. Rev. A.L. Deever, pastor of the United Brethren church spoke a comforting sermon to the family, on "Our idea of a model man" and used for this text number 10:29 "For we are journeying into the place of which the Lord said." A quartette composed of Mrs. Owen Nesbit, Mrs. Roy Porter, W.V. Williams and Frank Olin sang "Rock of Ages," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me" and "Some Sweet Day Bye and Bye." The pall bearers were George Brant, Duke Hanna, Baker Hanna, Will Schwantes, Wiley Logan and Quinn Paugh.

Frank Weakly was born in Shelby county, Illinois, October 15, 1846 and died August 18, 1922 at Winfield, Kansas. Being 75 years, 10 months and 3 days at the time of his death. He moved from Illinois to Kansas with his parents in 1863, settling in Washington county. In 1870 he came to Cowley county where he has since resided. Frank was the eldest son of Robert Weakly and Elizabeth Small Weakly. He is survived by three brothers, John, Israel and Henry Weakly. Two sisters preceded him in death. Nancy dying in infancy and Rebecca died in Washington county, Kansas in 1866 at the age of 23 years.
