Mrs. Shuler was born as daughter of the late Fred and the late Ida Parris Pannell in Sylva, N.C. October 8, 1924. She spent her early years raising a family. Later she completed her degree at the Asheville School of Cosmetology and began working in that field as a hairdresser. She continued this career untill retirement. After the loss of her husband Lincoln she became involved in numerous volunteer activities. From 1991 - 1998 she was Senior Adult Leader for the Tuckasegee Baptist Association. She was instrumental in the organization of the Senior Adult Choir for the Tuckasegee Baptist Association. They traveled to many places to sing as far as upstate New York to sing for small churches in that rural region. One of her most beloved groups was the "Golden Aires" a part of the Jackson County Council of Aging. She remained a leader and instrumental until moving to Arden in 2007. They sang throughout Jackson County and the local area. She volunteered for United Christian Ministries and Women's Missionary groups in Jackson County and her church. Eloise was gifted in many ways. Twice her crochet pieces won Frst Place ribbons in senior competitions.
She loved to travel and traveled with Christian Tours until she visited 48 states leaving off Alaska and Hawaii. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by husbands Burgle Shuler, Lincoln Shuler, and grandson Dustan Jerry Moody.
The funeral will be held 3:00 pm on Friday, August 1 at Buff Creek Baptish Church followed by burial in Addie Cemetery, Sylva. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 pm before the service at the church.
