John Forest Bane was born in Jefferson County, Iowa, March 9th 1860, where he lived until he was married Dec 11th 1884 to Miss Anna Parks. Soon after their marriage they came to Smith Co., Kansas where they have since lived. To them were born four children, Johnny, Harry, Mrs. Eunice Dillon and Arthur, all of whom survive him and with his wife mourn his untimely going. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert and Jasper , who have resided in this community many years.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, a good neighbor, honest, industrious, and thrifty, and hel in the highest esteem by all who knew him. Death came suddenly, Wednesday afternoon, July 12.
Funeral services were conducted from the home Friday Afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the beautiful Cedar Cemetery. The large gathering of friends and neighbors testifying to their regard for him and their deep sympathy for the bereaved family. The funeral address was delivered by Elder M. J.
