WILHELM C. CLEMENS II, was born in Schlewecke, Braunschweig (Germany)and came to New Braunfels, Texas with his parents. He married KATHINKA VON COLL on November 9, 1872 in New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas. He is the son of WILHELM CLEMENS I and wife, WILHELMINE BREUSTEDT.
WILHELM and KATHINKA had two sons WILHELM CLEMENS III and WALTER CLEMENS. Both never married and died without issue.

He was appointed by two Governors to serve as Chairman on the State Penitentiary Committee. The Clemens Unit in Brazoria County is named in his honor.
