Mr. Shannon "Toby" Keith Pennington, 39, of 426 White's Rd. in Gaffney, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. He was the son of John "Johnny" Pennington and Mary Ellen Pennington of Gaffney. Mr. Pennington was a native of Gaffney, SC.
Mr. Pennington was of the Baptist faith and was a millwright by trade.
He leaves behind, along with his mother and father, a daughter, Carrie Pennington of Gaffney, who is also a student of Limestone College; his fiancée, Becky Pennington of Gaffney; two sisters, Aimee Bailey of Gaffney and Patty Thomas of Blacksburg; a brother Eddie Pennington and his paternal grandmother, Nell Pennington also of Gaffney. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Hazel Atkins, a paternal grandfather "Pop" Roy Pennington, and one uncle, Lamar "Bigun" Pennington.
Mr. Pennington will be taken to the home of his mother at 403 Draytonville Rd., Gaffney, for visitation on Friday, November 14th at 11am. His service will be held at the Draytonville Baptist Church on Saturday, November 15th at 11am, with the Rev. Robert Ivey and the Rev. Tim Osment officiating. Interment will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Thomas, Neely Thomas, Josh Henderson, Rick Pennington, Billy Joe Pennington, Jr., Ronnie Bailey, and Joe Messer.
